Lacrosse is a sport that originated with Native Americans. It is a team sport that is played using a small rubber ball and a stick that has a long handle. The head of a lacrosse stick has loose mesh attached to it that allows it to hold and catch a lacrosse ball. The object of the game is to shoot the ball into goal of the opponent. During play the lacrosse stick must be used to carry, pass, catch and shoot the ball. The field is 110 yards long and 60 yards wide.

When it comes to equipment, the lacrosse stick is one of the most important pieces of the game. There are various grades of Lacrosse sticks. Warrior lacrosse makes some of the best sticks and other lacrosse training equipment. In addition to a lacrosse stick a player must wear a helmet. Knee and elbow pads are often worn as well. Lacrosse is contact sport and is a bit like hockey being played on grass. The majority of players wear special lacrosse shorts. It allows them to easily move about the field.

Learning to play lacrosse can take awhile. Throwing the ball from the lacrosse stick with any kind of accuracy takes some time. Start out slow, tossing the ball back and forth with a partner. As you gain experience you can try to hit a moving target by asking your partner to run around the field while you try to throw them a pass.

If you are practicing alone you can often use baseball training aids to help you perfect your pass. A rebounder can be used as a target and it will bounce the ball back in your general direction, which can give you a chance to practice scooping up a ball off the ground. It can take some time to become deadly accurate so be patient and keep at it. Many communities have adult league lacrosse for beginners. It can be a good way to meet new people and learn some new lacrosse skills.
